Hill House Equestrian Excels at Dressage Competition

On Sunday, 23 February, Grove House Stables hosted an exciting in-house Dressage Competition, welcoming a total of 28 competitors, including six talented riders from the Hill House School Equestrian Club, providing a fantastic opportunity for riders to showcase their skills.

Dressage is a discipline where riders perform a set sequence of movements at specific points in the arena, with each movement scored by a judge. Placings are determined by percentage scores, reflecting precision and harmony between horse and rider.

Representing Hill House School were Luca Markham, Lucy Barker, Scarlett Ross, Lulu Goulden, Holly Rawlinson and Pei Pei Wang, all demonstrating exceptional skill and dedication. Special congratulations go to Luca & his horse, Lady, who achieved an outstanding 76.2% to take first place! Scarlett secured a well-earned second place with 71.4% on Tommy, while Pei Pei & Knight placed fourth with 68.2%.

Competitors arrived at the event, warmed up their horses, and then performed their tests at allocated times in front of a judge. Each rider received a detailed scoresheet with feedback on their performance, along with placings and rosettes where applicable.

A huge well done to all our riders for their fantastic performances! The next in-house competition at Grove House takes place on Easter Monday, 21 April 2025—a great chance for more riders to take part and continue their equestrian journey.

Congratulations once again to our Hill House equestrians!
