U16 Girls’ Hockey Team Honoured with Prestigious Award

Hill House School’s U16 Girls’ Hockey Team has been recognised with the distinguished Headmaster’s Award following their remarkable performance at the T2 National Finals at the Olympic Park. The team achieved an outstanding second-place finish, securing the Silver Medal in a fiercely contested tournament.

Headmaster, Mr David Holland, presented the awards to the team, marking the second set of recipients since the accolade’s introduction earlier this year. The Headmaster’s Award has launched in 2025 to celebrate pupils who exhibit exceptional dedication and excellence in extracurricular activities, reinforcing the school’s ethos of holistic education.

Mr Holland praised the players for their commitment, teamwork, and resilience, stating, “It is a privilege to recognise the outstanding contributions of our pupils. The U16 Girls’ Hockey Team has demonstrated extraordinary dedication, skill, and perseverance, representing Hill House with pride on a national stage. Their achievement at the T2 National Finals is truly commendable, and they are deserving recipients of this award.”

The Headmaster’s Award is part of Hill House’s initiative to acknowledge pupils who go above and beyond in sports, the arts, and other extracurricular pursuits. The award was introduced in conjunction with the school’s recent accolade of being named Independent Secondary School of the Year North 2025 by The Sunday Times' Parent Power School Guide.

This latest recognition serves as an inspiration to all pupils, encouraging them to actively participate in school life beyond the classroom. Hill House School continues to foster a culture of excellence, ensuring that both academic and extracurricular achievements are celebrated.
