Hill House Girls Rugby Tour Triumphs in Bath

Over the half-term break, 13 Hill House Year 10 and 11 girls embarked on an unforgettable rugby tour to Bath where they showcased skill, teamwork, and determination over the four-day trip.

The group, based at YHA Bath, started off their trip with a training session at Loughborough University, where they had the incredible opportunity to train under the guidance of England Women’s international, Helena Rowland. The session inspired the girls to push their limits and refine their skills.

Beyond the pitch, the team enjoyed bonding activities, including an evening of bowling, before diving back into rugby with a training session at a local club to sharpen their game strategies.

Exploring the historic city of Bath provided a well-earned break before the girls took on their first fixture against Chippenham U16s. In a thrilling, high-scoring encounter, Hill House emerged victorious with a 68-48 win, displaying exceptional attacking prowess and teamwork.

The tour continued with a day trip to Bristol, where the girls soaked in the sights before capping off the evening with a celebratory team meal at Pizza Express.

Sunday morning presented the final challenge of the tour: a fixture against Chew Valley U16s. In tough conditions, the Hill House team secured a 60-0 victory and showcased their defensive resilience and attacking flair.

Throughout the tour, the group demonstrated outstanding commitment and sportsmanship. The experience not only strengthened their skills on the field but also created memories that will last a lifetime.
