Mr Burch will join Hill House in September 2025, from Birkdale School, Sheffield, where he has been Head of Junior School since 2009. He is a graduate of the University of London and an experienced Inspector for the Independent Schools’ Inspectorate. He is a keen sportsman, singer and father to four grown-up sons.

Headmaster of Hill House, Mr David Holland, explained that Chris Burch was the outstanding candidate for the role. "He brings a wealth of experience of already running his own very highly regarded junior school, and a real passion for primary education."

Mr Burch is looking forward to joining the Hill House community, saying, "I feel excited and honoured to be appointed as Head of Hill House Junior School. From my very first visit to the school, I was struck by the friendly, purposeful atmosphere, the academic excellence and the breadth of opportunities available to Hill House children. I very much look forward to meeting and getting to know the children, families and staff."

In the coming months, Mr Burch will be joining Hill House for various events prior to his formal arrival in September, so that he can really get to know the school, the children and the parents, whilst the smooth running of the Junior School will continue with Mrs Leach and her team.
