Hockey Tour to Valkenburg
The half-term break saw Hill House Hockey take record numbers of pupils on the biennial tour to Holland.
Eight teams from U13 to U15, comprising 102 boys and girls, visited the beautiful town of Valkenburg, enjoying the sights of the town, coaching from Dutch hockey staff, and matches against Dutch clubs in the evenings.
Afternoon entertainment included visits to the now legendary Pancake Paradise, tobogganing and trips to PSV Eindhoven and a German water park. With some time to also explore the streets and shops of the delightful medieval town, evenings were then spent under floodlights in serious competition with strong Dutch club sides from the Limburg province, Germany and Belgium. All teams played well, with particularly strong showings from the unbeaten U15 girls and U14 boys.
All players returned home refreshed and ready for a busy second half of term which included a series of Yorkshire and North Finals, as Hill House Hockey goes from strength to strength.
